Growing Up

You were six months old and full of fun,

With a blink of an eye you were suddenly one!

There were so many, many things to do,
and I turned my head and you were two.

At two you were still dependent on me,
But independence took over once you turned three.

 Another year with fun galore,
but as I lit the candles, there weren't three, but four.

Next was the year you really strived,
And look at that, you turned five!

It seemed like my eyes were playing tricks,
Because before I knew it you were six.

Time has gone so fast that it is hard to believe,
Why just yesterday you were coming home with me!

A very happy seventh birthday to my sweet Lilly.
