Little Rabbits

I bought a lot of carrots at the farmer's market. Jonas and Lucy loved them After I washed the carrots they would walk around eating them raw.

Fun in a Bouncy House

The gas station that Jimmy owns had a family day. We took the girls and they had fun jumping in the bouncy house. They also got their faces painted and had glitter put in their hair.

Playing with Sparklers

Lucy loves sparklers. Lilly is less of a fan after she read that more children are injured by sparklers each fourth of July than any other type of fireworks.

 Rosie was also concerned about the wisdom of handing children burning sticks.

 

Staying Cool this Summer

This hasn't been a super hot summer but we have had some hot day. The girls have enjoyed playing in the poor and also playing with the water hose.

Baby Turtle

Not only have we seen two turtles lay eggs in our yard this year, the girls also found a baby turtle. They were very careful with it and then went and put it in the woods.

Model Magic

Jennifer sent something called Model Magic with Jonas one day. It is sort of like play dough except it has a different texture. They attempted to make the things pictured on the package but eventually gave up and made creations of their own.

 

The package claims it won't stick to fabric, but that is a lie. As you can tell, Lilly's stuck to the blanket and Jonas stepped on some and it was a pain to get off his shoes.

A Treasure Hunt

Lilly and Lucy read a book where a child followed clues to find a treasure and they wanted to do the same thing so I made them a little treasure hunt.

 

The first clue told them to go to the hammock.

 

 

There they found a clue that told them they each had to swing three times and then go to the strawberry patch.

 

 

Our strawberries are planted in an old plastic wading pool.

 

 

 There they had to smell the strawberry flowers and then go search the vegetable garden for the next clue.

 

 

Lucy found the next clue hidden in the sugar snap peas.

 

They had to count all the tomato flowers and then search for their final clue at the play house.

 

They both spotted the final clue and after climbing through the tunnel at the bottom of the play house they headed to look for the last clue on the kitchen door.

 





 

The last clue told them to go look in the freezer. There they found ice cream cones. 

Mother's Day

On Mother's Day we had dinner at my mom's house and then Jason got out a toy that Jonas had received earlier in the year. It is a giant inflatable ball that children can sit in the middle of and you can roll them around the yard. It was hard work for Jason but the kids sure had fun.

A Good Morning for a Game

A couple of weeks ago it was muddy outside so Lucy and Jonas decided to get out one of the games Lucy got for Christmas and play it. Lucy and Jonas are good partners when it comes to playing games because neither of them are upset if the rules are made up and changed constantly. At one point they appeared to be playing two entirely different games. Lilly, on the other hand, is really big about sticking to the rules and hates playing with them because they never do.

Finally Feeling Like Summer

After a long cold winter and a spring that has had a lot of cold days it is finally beginning to feel more like late spring in the South. We had not gotten out the big pool yet so the girls played in the little green pool one afternoon.

Swinging and Singing

Last year at this time Lucy couldn't sing. She started at a preschool that is really six hours of various types of therapy a week. This includes music therapy. It is amazing the change it has made! Lucy has finally found her voice and can sing just as much as Lilly can.

Playing Drive-In

Lilly, Lucy and Jonas were playing out in the front yard and while I worked on the patio cleaning things up and I looked down and saw that they were playing that they were at the drive-in movie theater. Lucy and Jonas were sitting in their "cars" while Lilly acted out a movie.
