This and That

Making chocolate chip cookies.

Lilly using a gift she got last year to make bouncy balls.

These are some play glasses we bought for a costume once. Lucy had been playing with them and put them in her coat pocket. When she got to school she pulled them out, the teacher saw them and made her wear them all day because she thought they were real glasses. Lucy got moved to orange that day for continually taking off the glasses and saying she didn't need to wear them. I sent the teacher an email letting her know they are just play glasses.

Polar Express Night

The girls' school had a Polar Express night. It was pretty much the exact same as last years except it didn't have the bubble "snow" which, to be honest, was the best part of the entire night, so I was disappointed.

Drinking hot chocolate after meeting Santa.

Elf hats that I made a bit too big and Lucy's ears ended up looking like horns.

Posing with the cardboard Santa who appears to be asleep.

Pretending to be reindeer who are riding in the sleigh instead of pulling it.

 Playing with the props.

Serious Lilly.

Christmas Parade

For the first time we took the girls to a Christmas parade. Lilly loved it, but Lucy wasn't a huge fan. I think the loud noises bothered her.

We got there several hours early so that we could get a good parking spot. We had lunch at a little cafe and Lilly and Lucy played chess while we waited for our food.

Lucy did enjoy seeing the Grinch.

We had to stop Lilly from throwing herself in front of floats to get the candy.

Santa came at the very end!

Sugar Cookies

Lucy used the cow cookie cutter she got from her grandma.

They had a lot of fun icing and decorating the cookies. They got a bit carried away with the sprinkles, but that just makes them taste better. :)

Gingerbread Houses and a Chocolate Advent Calendar

We started off December by decorating a gingerbread house.
Some of the candy ended up in Lucy's mouth instead of the house.

Lilly's favorite part was putting on the icing.

Jimmy bought the girls a little chocolate advent calendar. Each day they open another door and find a tiny piece of chocolate. It was a big hit.

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

The fall decorations have been taken down and stored for next year.

We started a new tradition of unwrapping a book each evening to count down till Christmas.

Each book comes with a card that tell the girls about a special activity we will do the next day.
