Christmas Pictures

I have finally gotten around to putting the Christmas pictures on the computer. Better late than never!

 Opening their boots. Lilly got pink sparkly boots and Lucy got blue sparkly boots.

 

 Checking out the stockings. One of the things they got was a fairy costume and wand.

 

 Coloring on Christmas morning with some of the craft kits that their Grandparents had given them on Christmas Eve.

Polar Vortex

Due to the Polar Vortex(which sounds like it would be a cheaply made Syfy movie that involves polar bears attacking people in Florida due to a sudden drop in temperatures.) we have experienced unusually cold weather. For the first time our little lake froze all the way over. Some days the high temperatures were lower than our usual low temperatures. I wish we had gotten some snow along with all the cold weather, but the girls and Jonas enjoyed seeing the ice.

 

Jonas loved throwing sticks and acorns onto the ice and watching them slide across.

The ice was so thick that Lucy threw a heavy rock on it and it didn't break.

 

 

Even the stream that feeds the lake froze over.

 

 

Right before the cold weather we had had some heavy rains and large branches had been carried to the edge of the lake. You can see parts of them sticking out of the ice.

 

Lilly's Fairy Garden

For Christmas Lilly received a fairy garden kit from her grandparents. She loves fairies so she was so excited to get to work on putting this one together. It has grown really well despite the super cold temperatures we have had lately that has kept our house on the cooler side.
